Over 122,000 children live in child-headed households in South Africa. Director Warren Mac Carthy traveled to a charming little town called Piet Retief to film the story of  Nqobile Mdletshe who was orphaned at age 15 and chose to raise her younger sister single handed. With barely enough money for food, and working at a local supermarket while still a student in school, Nqobile’s future looked bleak until she found out about a bursary program from Make a Difference Leadership Foundation.  Her life would never be the same again. This mini documentary will go live in October / November 2016.

Filming in Hoedspruit

Warren Mac Carthy flew up to Hoedspruit to film the change over from the CET foundation to the local community of the Eco Training project. Footage will go toward MAD Leadership Foundation’s main mini-documentary. MAD has proudly supported this initiative for the past decade, empowering the community by teaching them how to grow their own food and manage the environment efficiently and sensibly. Operating from Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, in South Africa’s Northern Province, MAD, in partnership with CET, brings together hundreds of children who live in communities around this precious wildlife area. School classrooms are upgraded as well. Nelson Ikeh did a great job on camera two.

Tea in Mamelodi – BTC

Warren MacCarthy traveled to the township of Mamelodi, Pretoria to film a mini-documentary for The Make a Difference Leadership Foundation. The Nkosi family were incredibly kind and generous, inviting him to tea and many tasty meals. On one of our pick up days, we invited the family to participate in the filming process. Gadaffi is now an intern at a prestigious law firm.
